Change default header style?

Now that we can have markdown in headers, will there be a way to set default formatting for a header level?

For example

• typing # Heading gives me an H1 heading
• typing # ==Heading== gives me a highlighted heading

Will it be possible to make it so typing # Heading automatically wraps “heading” in == ==?

Granted, typing == == is easy so not being able to automate it is fine.
