Default Font for Arabic

As an Arab user, I really think a lot of wisdom has been used to choose the default Arabic font for macOS, the one that is being used throughout the system, in Apple Notes and the whole interface.

It looks neat, well spaced, lines spacing are good, and when we add the

they appear nice and well written.

But Bear’s current arabic font is not like that…

For example see how the Harakat are overlapping each others in Bear

while they are not in Apple Notes

So my request is to use the default Arabic font that is used by the system in macOS.

Hello and thanks for this valuable feedback. I’ll discuss it with everybody on the team to see if we can adopt the system font for Arabic. Mind at some point it will be possible to choose the preferred font for Bear’s editor.

I know Apple improved a lot the Arabic UI support across all the OSes with the last iteration. Are you using macOS Ventura?

Currently in Bear 1, we can choose the System font in Bear’s Settings. However the Editor tab is not there in Bear 2’s Settings.

Yet I am on Ventura 13.1 (22C65)

I have a similar request but for Hebrew script. It would be nice to be able to choose a font for individual languages (in case one is working in multiple languages), but I understand that’s a big ask.
