Found myself writing and wanted to cite articles from inside a table. At least the markdown table syntax does not conflict with the footnote notation, I think.
Essentially, had my cursor inside a table cell - tried Cmd+shift+e and nothing happens; and when using the menu item from a mouse, it creates at the bottom, outside of the table.
Small request, but definitely a nice improvement I’d love to see.
This currently is a limitation of our editor at the moment.
Standard markdown actually doesn’t include things like footnotes and tables, so as we’re trying to keep to the standard as much as possible, we’ll have to have a think about this.
