Links to Finder files

I currently have a little Automator Workflow that pastes a link to the currently selected file in the Finder into Bear in the form of [Filename](file:///path/to/Filename).
This is a fabulous way to keep links to resources in Bear, without copying the entire file into the Bear database (and duplicating the ones in the filesystem). I think of this as creating a Finder “alias” of the file into Bear.

However, sometimes I rename the target files, or move them. When this happens the links break. It would be great if Bear could implement a link system that can “track” the target file, much like the Finder tracks aliases. I was thinking in fact, under the hood, that Bear could create an Alias and keep this in the DB, and let the Finder do the tracking to the actual target file.

That would be fantastic.
Thank you,
