Separators get exported wrong in Markdown exports

Testing version:
Version 2.0 (9652)

What were you doing:
exporting a note that contained separators as Markdown

What feature did you use:
“Export note”

What happened:
Separators get exported into Markdown as - - - (with spaces between the dashes) which is inconsistent with any existing standards.

What did you expect to happen:
All Markdown apps I know support *** and --- for separators. They should be exported as either of the two options (probably the dashes as they are more commonly recognized.)

Common mark does support - - - as a separator but I guess you’re right, --- is more commonly used. We’ll discuss changing the markdown inserted by the separator button.

I stand corrected. I tested in a couple apps (iA Writer, Taio, Obsidian), and they can all interpret this correctly. So I guess no need to change it.

I might start using it myself because two dashes get autocorrected to an em-dash a lot.

I immediately tried that as the conversion to em-dashes is annoying like gnome.irdian said.

It works but after 2 dashes strange things happen that can be continued:
