Pasting to Tables

Scenario

I had a bunch of words on new lines that I wanted as rows in a table. I tried creating a table, then pasting inside the first row under the header row.

Expectations

I was expecting Bear to know that each line should be in its own row in the table.

Results

Every new line was pasted in the same row

What’s the problem?

Without this functionality, if someone has a long list of things they’d like to turn into a table, and fast, this doesn’t seem possible currently. I may be missing something. The problem is I had to paste each line individually by hand to each new row. If the list is long, this can take a long while.

In Apple Notes, this behavior is built in and it’s wonderful! Check out the video:

Also, if there’s a way to do this and I just don’t know what it is, please let me know!

You raise a good point. No promises, but I will add it to the list of things we could do. We have some other fixes that we are considering related to pasting text, so this might fit into that.
